We respect your valuable time and we keep our appointments on time and pay close attention to meeting our treatment time estimates, and keeping your time to an absolute minimum.

The purpose of our office is to enhance your dental health and facial aesthetics and to improve your life.  We are committed to excellence in our orthodontic treatment results and achieve these results with as little discomfort to the patient and disruption to their activities as possible.

First Visit

We look forward to welcoming you on your first visit to our office.  During this visit, we will help you get acquainted with our office and decide whether orthodontic treatment can benefit you.  Since each patient’s orthodontic treatment is different, we will provide you with the personal attention you deserve.

During this important visit, Dr. Solga will examine each patient and discuss the ideal treatment and any possible treatment alternatives.

A provisional diagnosis will be discussed with an estimate of fees, length of treatment time and financial arrangements.

An attractive healthy smile builds self-esteem and plays an important role in overall health.  We encourage questions from both the patient and the parent and we will be happy to address any concerns.

EMERGENCIES

Discomfort with Orthodontic Treatment:

During the first few days after your braces are placed and after routine adjustments, you may feel some discomfort.  You may take acetaminophen, ibuprofen, or other pain relievers.

What To Do In Case of Emergencies

Call our office as soon as possible if you break or loosen any of your braces or appliances.  Even if you have a regular appointment scheduled, call us to notify us if you are having a problem.

Loose Brackets or Bands

Call our office for advice if a bracket or wire is loosened.  You may need to have the bracket replaced.  A loose band or bracket can usually be left in place until seen in our office.  If you need to cut a wire to remove the bracket, you may use fingernail clippers that have been washed and sterilized in alcohol.  Call our office the next business day, so we may schedule an appointment to check the wire.

 Wire or Bracket Irritation

Discomfort caused by a wire or a bracket can usually be resolved by covering a small amount of wax.  If the main wire comes out of the brace or tube on a back molar, attempt to reinsert the wire with a pair of tweezers.  If the wire is painful, you can cut it with nail clippers or scissors that have been washed and sterilized with alcohol.  If you cannot resolve the discomfort, call our office for an appointment.

Lost Separator

Call our office to see if it needs to be replaced.

Retainer and Appliances

If your retainer or appliance breaks or is lost call our office to schedule an appointment to have it repaired or replaced.
